TERENGGANU'S SILAT PRINCESS SCORES 8A's FOR SPM 2016 EXAM
KEMAMAN: National Putri Silat champion Izlina Ameera Izlirahman is an inspiration for many girls in her school for her exemplary martial arts skills.
However, she’s now a role model for another achievement - the 8As and 1B she scored in the SPM examination.
The 2015 silat champion from SMK Chukai proved yet again that being active in co-curricular activities does not necessarily mean that they would neglect their studies.
She said apart from silat, she is also actively involved in softball and athletics.
“Dividing my time carefully is the key to my achievement.
" When preparing for exams, I did not abandon my interest in sports. During intensive training for silat tournaments, I also studied as per usual.
"The high level of discipline in my school played a big role in moulding me into what I am today. I would like to thank my principal and teachers," she said, adding that she aspires to become a physiologist.
Izlina said she had only expected to score 6As at the most, as she had bagged 5As during the trial exam.
School principal Roeaidah Yusuff said the school has maintained its number of straight-A scorers at 22, the same as in 2015.
